VERY IMPORTANT COMIC

Part one of a three part arc about Sara's family. It turns out that she was adopted! We'll find out more about her real parents soon. In the meantime, I wanted to try and get across that Sara's adoptive parents, Kevin and Cindy, are both a little bit overprotective. 

I really wanted to include a character in the series who was adopted. Mainly because I really want to encourage more people to consider adoption as a option.

(Guess who was already on the verge of tears just making this comic? IT ME.)

Melody: Hey, Sara? How many more of these does your family need to move into storage? 
Sara: Just a few more, I promise!
Oh, Melody, come check this out!
Melody: What'd you find?
Sara: My hospital records! I bet my birth certificate is in here!
Melody: ... Sara? Why is your last name marked at Ottacross and not Smith?
Sara: Huh?
Melody: Right here. And there are a bunch of papers stapled to it. 
Sara: There's an updated birth certificate, with my name marked as Smith. It's right behind these...
Adoption papers...

Sara: M-Mom? Dad?
Cindy: Sara? Honey, what's-
Oh no...
Sara: W-What's going on?
Cindy: Sara, sweetie, we're so sorry. We should have told you sooner.
Kevin: We kept saying we'd tell you when you're older, but... the moment just... never seemed right. 
Sara: Wha-What happened?
Kevin: What you read was true, Sara.
We did adopt you. It was wrong of us to hide it from you for so long. It's about time you learn the full story...
